I divide my divorced life into two parts. Before Robin and After Robin.

Back in the B.R. ages, I dreaded every interaction with my ex. Every interaction felt like dental surgery, and I often avoided interacting with her, just to avoid the conflict. The thought of any changes to our agreement, either temporary or more permanent, felt like a pipe dream. And of course, our daughter constantly paid the price for our shoddy communication.

Today my ex and I are on the path to something special.  Our daughter is nourished by the balance between her two homes. My ex and I have gone from being adversaries to being clear allies in the fight for our daughter. And here’s a beautiful by-product—my ex and I are on the path to becoming friends!
